We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to help us deliver a stable, efficient, and creative environment for our game teams. You will be responsible for the Game Engine Foundation area, which empowers teams with the foundations of our proprietary game engine, Fiction Factory.
The Fiction Factory engine is made up of a highly- optimized runtime capable of high- quality 2D and 3D mobile gaming across a huge range of mobile devices, a content editing tool, and a content and build pipeline to enable King’s game teams to iterate quickly.
As a Senior Product Manager in the Game Production organization, you will have an active role in defining our product strategy and building strong partnerships with our internal stakeholders and customers. You will also be responsible for understanding user problems and needs based on data and collaboration with our Users, UX and Engineering teams.
This role belongs to part of the Kingdom we call Shared Tech. The teams within Shared Tech work as B2B organizations working across all the technology that we use to power our live games, including data infrastructure, machine learning, payments infrastructure and the game engines themselves. The vision within Shared Tech is "We are the stage where King games love to perform”.
Your role within our Kingdom
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with our major games and one of the largest game user bases in the world. You will be part of a product team responsible for end- to- end user experience, bringing impact to the business and end users, building new tools, technologies, and experiences, as well as improving existing ones.
Responsible for the product space for the game engine foundations, which includes products such as the resource pipeline and game editor platform.
Effectively balance long- term technical innovation, user- facing improvements, strategic initiatives, and technical debt to deliver short- and long- term impact
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal users, collaborators, and customers: capture needs, identify areas for collaboration, and communicate about strategies, plans, and releases
Identify important opportunities in collaboration with Games, Product Managers, Engineering, Product Design, Product Specialists, and Data
Drive product vision, strategies, and roadmaps in the context of broader organizational strategies and goals
Incorporate data, research, and market analysis to inform product strategies and roadmaps
Lead product discovery and development activities in partnership with Engineering and UX
Support and motivate a team of engineers and other cross- functional representatives
Coach and mentor junior product managers, and contribute to the overall product organization development
Skills to create thrills
Proven experience working as a Product Manager in a cross- functional team
Experience working in the game industry is good to have but not essential.
Experience building and shipping applications or software features/products within a large- scale environment. Experience managing platform, API, or other foundational products is a plus.
Due to the technical nature of the products, a technical background is preferable but not essential. Experience managing a product targeted at game developers is a plus.
An outcome, impact, and continuous discovery mentality
Strong communication skills: you can articulate both the vision and the details of product performance to teams and internal partners in both written and verbal form
Experience creating buy- in, strong collaboration, and relationship building with engineers and stakeholders
Experience integrating customer feedback into product requirements, driving prioritization and pre/post- launch execution and evaluation
