Your role within the Kingdom

As Engineering Manager you are responsible for the technical leadership & delivery within Soda’s Events product area.

The Engineering Manager is part of the Events Leadership Team (alongside leaders in Product, Creative and Analytics) and your core remit will span three key areas of responsibility:

  • Provision of technical leadership in the Events area
  • Ownership of the area’s technical roadmap - definition, alignment and execution 
  • Management of the technical team in the Events Area - Engineers and QAs

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for the technical performance and quality of the game components the Events area is responsible for

  • Embed Soda tech best practices and actively promote software industry standards into the area’s development process

  • Empower and equip your team to take the right technical decisions and prioritize needs

  • Engage with stakeholders (internal and external to the Events Area) to define and align on the area’s technical roadmap

  • Continuously refine workflows and processes within the area’s cross functional teams

  • Work with Soda’s central tech team to ensure compliance and alignment

  • Ensure the right mix of talent and skills in your team and own recruiting, onboarding and performance management of the individuals under your supervision

  • Oversee the career development of your direct reports, through coaching and mentoring

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with a demonstrated track record of software development and technical excellence and a passion for team building. You are humble and open with a down to earth attitude and motivated by working in a fun, inclusive and diverse organization.

Required skills & experience

  • An experienced engineer who is still able to contribute to the code base

  • Architecting and designing complex systems

  • Proven experience of leading and building engineering teams

  • Performance management and career development of engineers

  • Ability to plan and deliver solutions that take into account both current and future needs

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • You have extensive experience working in a high level language (C++, C#, Java)

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken 

  • You speak both technical and business languages

Bonus

  • You have prior experience in the gaming industry leading client teams

  • Have know- how in project management

  • You have in depth knowledge of modern C++ language
