We are looking to grow the engineering management team and are looking for a senior developer & part- time manager to lead and grow the developers in our teams. This is an incredible opportunity to step into a leadership role, learn new skills and help us to shape an excellent Engineering Organization.
You are an experienced engineer with great passion for programming and a solid sense of quality and polish. As a developer you are also analytical and genuinely interested in understanding the whole tech stack. And, of course, you’ll need to know what makes a good game and will be working closely together with the rest of the team.
Given the part- time nature of the management role, we expect you to spend 20- 30% of your time on that aspect of the role. We also would like to limit the number of maximum direct reports you will have to 4- 5, and that is only once you're fully onboarded. You will get mentorship and support from the Engineering Management team and our People team.
As a Senior Engineer you will be responsible for the delivery of game features as well as contributions to the area’s technical road map. Design, architect, test and implement game features.
Not only deliver high quality and well- structured code but actively take an active part in game creation.
You are able to communicate effectively on technology and people challenges to the stakeholders and manage expectations.
This role requires a degree of people responsibilities:
You’ll be responsible for managing a group of developers within the game.
You will be expected to help them in career development, mentoring and review process.
You’ll be involved in the recruitment and interviewing process and ensure continuous improvement of all talent- related processes through feedback.
Drive and execute talent- related processes, such as talent mapping, succession planning, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
Handle administration part of King HR policies for your team, such as contract extensions, leave approval, expenses, hardware, and software
You’ll be part of the engineering management community working on initiatives to support and develop the engineering craft across all Candy areas.
Skills to create thrills
Fluent in modern C++
Experience with development of user- facing applications, leading projects/tasks from start to finish.
You are self- starter and proactive. You cherish pragmatism over perfection to achieve a high velocity of delivery.
Other skills include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent required
Excellent communication and leadership skills with experienced inter- department tech communication.
Excellent teamwork skills, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
