Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a world- class marketing finance lead to join our award- winning video game company in Irvine, California. Blizzard Entertainment is a premier developer and publishing of entertainment software. Its games are consistently category leaders, including the World of Warcraft®, Overwatch™, Diablo®, Hearthstone®, and StarCraft® franchises, each of which have received Game of the Year awards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Senior Manager of Marketing Finance and Strategy, you will support marketing and finance leaders on strategic planning, forecasting, and impact assessment for marketing investments across the Blizzard portfolio. You will be a key business partner to marketing and finance leaders in deciding budget allocations and driving effective decisions. Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:   

Marketing effectiveness

  • Partner with game franchise teams to develop deep understanding of audience segments and channel performance
  • Contribute to decision making on marketing budget allocation and optimization, including user acquisition, influencer activation, partnership marketing, and campaign production, among others
  • Participate in A/B testing initiatives and build codified knowledge to facilitate cross- franchise learning

Financial analyses and planning

  • Partner with marketing, finance, and regional teams to develop annual operating plan / quarterly forecast for the marketing budget. Help to set objectives, measurable KPIs, budget, and approval gates for both fixed headcount and variable spend
  • Lead financial analysis to support decision- making on franchise marketing priorities, investments, and go- to- market plans
  • Own and lead processes to enhance marketing investment tracking, reporting, and evaluation

REQUIREMENTS     

The ideal candidate will have experience in performance marketing analysis and marketing budget development. In addition, they will demonstrate strong financial acumen. Preferred qualifications include but are not limited to:

  • 4- 5+ years of marketing and finance experience, including 2- 3+ years of experience in top tier management consulting, video games, or tech firms/startups
  • Knowledge of the video game industry, especially games with strong live services. Passion for Blizzard game(s) is a plus
  • Proven record of driving innovative initiatives that generate positive revenue growth 
  • Deep knowledge of the key performance metrics that drive game performance
  • Excellent problem- solving skills and adaptability to change
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage complex projects with diverse stakeholders across functions, regions, etc.
  • MBA or equivalent professional experiences
