Job Description:

Our Experience Design Studio is looking for a Principal Experience Designer with comprehensive service design experience to join us in Candy Marketing. A leader and contributor in framing and solving complex problems; that uncover moments that matter, new business value and experiences that surprise and delight our players globally.

You will report directly to our Director of Experience Design based in Barcelona. As a member of King, you will have ample personal and professional development opportunities alongside talented colleagues sharing an appetite for holistic thinking, problem- solving and attention to detail. 

Your role within the Kingdom

Daily you inspire marketing and game studios to improve our player experiences, services and develop whole new value propositions based on new technology, new market developments or identify gaps in the brand experience.

Your practical and pragmatic approach will help shape our goal to connect and engage the world through playful entertainment.

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Collaborative methods to understand challenges and explore solutions across teams.

  • A self- starter who prioritises and manages programs, defines milestones, success criteria, resource allocation, and ensures successful on- time delivery.

  • Develop and manage relationships across marketing, Candy Crush Saga and Candy Crush Soda game teams.

  • Lead research activities to identify appropriate customer problems, solutions, and opportunities to form or create idea briefs framing explorations.

  • Fluency in shared tools and methods for online collaboration to explore, refine, and document credible experience concepts.

  • Maintain organised working files and project directories for easier collaboration across organisations and teams.

  • Successfully build, lead and mentor a team of service design experts.

  • As an advocate for service design, raise the awareness and understanding of the processes, tools and methods to create champions throughout the organisation.

Skills to create the thrills

  • Think strategically and systematically to strategy and vision with scalable design opportunities at every level.

  • Easily switch from macro to micro; from understanding the strategic value and business dynamics to the experience of a specific product or service.

  • Uses design methods, not as a tool to solve execution problems but to identify new opportunities for value creation.

  • Ability to work quickly in an agile environment, interact with people and empathise with stakeholders at different levels.

  • Mastery of tools and activities in applying service design in the real world - (strategic design, experience design, marketing, service design and design thinking) and mentoring others.

  • A curious mind with a passion for design, enthusiastic about excellence and attention to detail.

  • Plan, design, and facilitate cross- functional workshops with actionable outcomes for partners and stakeholders.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in mobile game marketing or developing global omnichannel marketing.

  • Hands- on experience utilising Growth Hacking, Lean and Agile methodologies to shape real change, value opportunities, and forward- thinking cross- functional teams.

  • Bring an optimistic and entrepreneurial mindset with experience in scaling teams in adopting new ways of working.
