Job Description:

As our Creative Lab Designer, your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to understand user behaviors within our games to design streamlined ad monetization experiences without impacting user lifetime value. You balance a passion for high fidelity visual design and creating highly functional and emotionally resonant ad experiences, both as standalone functional ad formats and as in- game ad experiences within the game’s user interface.

Level Up - Your Role With Activision Blizzard Media

You will be responsible for the design of custom branded ad experiences for our brand and agency partners within our internal ad format consultancy, Creative Lab. You’ll design custom and templated, self- contained ad experiences with striking visuals and engaging functionality. Raise the bar by designing gamified ad formats utilizing your visual design skills to create user interface game assets. Success requires a passion for building great products, enthusiasm for owning amazing work, working in partnership with product management, product marketing, product design, ad ops, and sales stakeholders in an agile product delivery environment. We are seeking a combination of strong vision, high- level design, and high- velocity execution.

Game Changer - What You Bring To The Role

  • Own the end- to- end design process taking ad format and ad placement feature ideas and requirements from concept to fully clickable prototypes.

  • Understand players, client needs, and features through research and exercises such as design kick- off meetings, studio brainstorms, and brand/client reviews.

  • Facilitate workshops to ideate on features, gather insights, and map out needs.

  • Utilize Agile methodology to plan out design stories

  • Create end- to- end ad format experiences including in- game placements

  • Create wireframes with a solid understanding of hierarchy and layout.

  • Be able to create pixel perfect high fidelity designs using tools such as Sketch, InVision Studio, Adobe Photoshop, etc.

  • Design in- game assets such as icons, buttons, modals, characters, etc.

  • Create more complex prototypes using transitions, microanimations, etc.

  • Lead collaboration with product, sales, ad ops, and clients on design ideation and visual design direction.

  • Ability to take higher- level stakeholders through the design process, proposed designs, and rationale for the execution.

  • Mentor junior and mid- level designers

Bonus Points

  • Experience designing game user interfaces

  • Experience working within Unity or Unreal Engine

  • Experience utilizing Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and other tools to create full motion proof of concept
