Your Profile

Activision Publishing is currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Mobile Team. We are looking for an individual who has a passion and proven track record for building and launching tools, technologies and games. 

You will report into the Senior Technical Director, Mobile who you will work with to ensure implementation aligns with strategy and priorities.


This is a hands- on role, requiring strong software engineering skills. Working as part of an overall engineering team effort, you would be expected to be both hands- on working directly developing and improving game features, tech, tools, workflow and quality initiatives, in addition to playing a role in a longer term technology and capability build- out.


Priorities can often change in a fast- paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:   



  • Responsible for full feature development lifecycle, from gathering requirements, to scoping, writing technical specifications, development and alignment across the various engineering teams

  • Design and implement new APIs and systems for accessing the platform infrastructure and functionality

  • Build and integrate Mobile operational capabilities whether in- house built or off- the- shelf commercial solutions

  • Collaborate with Operators, Designers and other engineers within the team and Activision global community to develop, implement and refine key systems and tools for various disciplines

  • Identify risk areas and proactively mitigate by collaborating with other engineers to create and implement automated tests and build tools to improve workflows and productivity for Development and Ops teams.

  • Provide hands- on engineering leadership by example, offering guidance and mentorship to fellow engineers.



Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4+ years or more experience in the video games or related industries as an Software Engineer 

  • Contributed to development and launch of at least one live product on Mobile (iOS and Android)

  • Fluent in modern C++ and experiences with various languages used such as Java, ObjC, Python, C#, JavaScript (browser + node.js) and shell scripts

  • An ability to operate within a large, constantly- evolving C++ codebase

  • Demonstrated ability to write clean, readable, portable, reliable, and optimized code on multi- platform projects

  • Comfortable working in a very distributed and collaborative team environment across multiple timezones 

  • Excited about learning new technologies and the ability to work independently to complete complex tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Experience working with Jira, Perforce and Git
