We are looking for an experienced C++ developer to join our cross platform game engine team. Your focus will be on the Windows and UWP parts of the engine (Microsoft’s Universal Windows Platform).
Our engine and tools are used by hundreds of developers at King and deliver some of the most played mobile games in the world. Our team is 40+ strong and looking to grow with experienced developers that have a user focused mindset.
Your role within our Kingdom
Our engine team needs a C++ engine developer to work on improving and maintaining our cross platform mobile engine, editor and tools. You will be responsible for developing and refining new and existing features on behalf of our dozen game teams.
You will be solving problems for live games and developing cross- platform features in a game engine that also run on iOS and Android. Your focus will be on Windows platforms such as Win64, UWP and the Microsoft Store. You will work closely with King’s Platform Partnership team to adapt the newest systems and devices.
You should have a keen understanding of the challenges faced by artists, coders and designers so that you can create technology that helps them continuously deliver their projects.
Skills to create thrills
Experience with developing C++ applications for Windows with Visual Studio
Experience with Microsoft’s Universal Windows Platform (UWP) and C++/WinRT
Familiar with game engines
Familiar with Python and CMake
A plus if you have experience with mobile development for Android (Java, JNI, NDK) or iOS (Objective- C++)
Knowledgeable and curious about programming and technology in general
Courage to dig into unknown code bases
Happy to work in an agile development environment with a location distributed team
Excellent communicator in English
Passionate about games, great if you’ve worked as a game developer before
