We’re looking for a Learning & Development Senior Specialist / Manager who helps bring to life this essential part of our Culture, ensuring our leaders, teams, and Kingsters are equipped with the right learning resources to be great at what they do and to grow their career at King. 

This role will report into the Learning & Development, Senior Manager, supporting the end to end learning journey from concept to design, and from delivery to assessment. 

You will have experience building and facilitating a leadership curriculum which improves the capability and confidence of leaders and management. This needs to span across both foundational and advanced capabilities, ensuring they understand and feel empowered to build both their talent and team performance. These solutions will incorporate blended learning solutions to ensure we shift and sustain behaviours of this population. 

You will have an understanding of different learning solutions, methodologies, technologies and return on investment approaches to ensure that the solutions we develop drive value to the bottom line of our organisation. 

You will also support our wider learning offering, partnering with HR Business Partners, business experts, and third parties to build out a skills and personal development offering which supports our organisational objectives. 

Priorities can often change in a fast- paced environment like ours, so this role will be hands- on and includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities: 


  • With an understanding of external best practices and our internal needs, you will assist with the shaping of King’s Learning & Development strategy and content, aligned to King’s objectives, people priorities and annual HR processes i.e. performance management, goal setting, engagement, succession and talent planning

  • Support with annual training needs assessments to identify business critical development requirements

  • Ongoing awareness of industry best practices for all things talent, leadership development and blended learning solutions. You will explore new and innovative ways of ensuring professional development for our King leaders and managers

  • Ensure King’s culture, values, diversity, equity and inclusion agendas are championed as part of all learning initiatives

  • Partner with Managers, People Directors, and HR Business Partners to understand training needs, development opportunities and priorities across Games, Crafts, Tech teams and other business functions. This will include supporting workforce planning solutions, helping to ensure we are building the skills of the future and supporting the career development of our Kingsters

  • Support the design and delivery of effective learning experiences, in our Kingdoms and virtually, ensuring that these have a strong ROI and are adding value to our bottom line

  • Manage and help to improve existing training & development resources, ensuring that these allow us to track and monitor the impact and effectiveness of our learning interventions and we are continuously improving in this space

  • Support the design and facilitation of high performing, team engagement and other team interventions

  • Help with the creation of business cases to get sign- off for new programs or proposals, as well as piloting and testing new programs to ensure effectiveness before launch

  • Manage training content repositories, along with completion and feedback data

  • Measure the impact and effectiveness of training & development programs

  • Manage existing and new learning & development suppliers relationships 

  • Manage the L&D budget

  • Help ensure training & development equality across our Kingster population

  • Help to set- up and establish training & development request and approval processes

Candidate Profile

  • Significant experience of learning and development specialist experience, and experience facilitating both small or larger workshops and meetings 

  • Passion for people development, knowledge sharing, psychology and learning design

  • Excellent organisational skills to be able to manage and coordinate cross- functional and cross- location training programs

  • Demonstrated ability to use tools for analysis, tracking, reporting on the success of learning & development initiatives

  • Strong sense of urgency and results- orientation; ability to take ownership of plans and see them through to completion

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office (excel, word, powerpoint etc.) and Google Drive skills

  • Ability to handle confidential data

  • Interest in the gaming sector and technology

  • Interest in championing People, Culture, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion agendas
