Job Description:

UX Interns

Your role within our Kingdom

We are looking for talented UX Interns from a variety of backgrounds and interests to join our Kingdom.

UX Research

As a member of the team, you participate in the design, application and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative methods. Knowing our players is a great source to, to inform and identify opportunities for innovation, usability, accessibility and visual improvements to create great- looking games and products that people love to use. This is a fast- paced, collaborative position across our international locations, where your work will inform decisions for all of King’s new products throughout the entire design cycle. In this role you will be part of the design and conduction of UX research activities to validate the usability of new and existing features or designs. You will participate in the data analysis process, which often combines both technical data collection and qualitative data. And you will contribute to the creation of research reports to share the learnings with the teams.

Skills to create thrills

  • Knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Energetic and responsive personality with excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and aesthetic sensibility
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, hands- on, and creative environment
  • Enthusiasm for utilizing a diverse set of approaches to creative problem solving
  • Proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

UX Design

We are looking for a motivated and thoughtful UX Design Intern to join us in designing new features and experiences for our games. If you want to create immersive, intuitive user experiences and delight millions of players, then this is the ideal internship for you.  Along with your game team, you’ll make meaningful contributions to UX Design for new features and collaborate with game designers, level designers and economy designers to create and uphold the UX vision for the game. You deeply respect the role of games in players’ lives.  You love games, and as a player you find yourself constantly evaluating and interpreting your emotions and motivations.  You empathize with players, and you fiercely advocate for them.  You notice great and terrible UX even in non- digital environments - at some point you may have engaged in a heated debate about the fact that a well- designed door shouldn’t need a “Push” or “Pull” sign.

Skills to create thrills

  • Designing and iterating on detailed wireframes, user flows, and information architecture
  • Understanding of the psychological foundations of UX (player motivations, cognitive flow, etc.)
  • Education or training in UX Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or Graphic Design
  • Ability to articulate UX design decisions to non- designers
  • A love for games and a deep understanding of why games are important

Want to join our Kingdom? Apply now! All applications need to be in English. This will be a 6- month full- time internship starting around September and is suitable for those looking for a LIA placement or have recently graduated.
Our application deadline is April 18th 2021, however we recruit on an ongoing basis, so early application is advised to avoid disappointment.

Please note that this internship will likely be carried out on a remote basis. We are keeping this under review, and will provide final confirmation closer to the date on which the internship is due to commence, but you should assume the internship will be remote. To be considered for this opportunity you would need to be a resident of, and eligible to work in, a country where King is located, as King can only facilitate local hires in order to comply with its legal and tax obligations. These countries are: UK, Spain, Sweden, Germany, Malta.
